An Amazing Adventure Vacation

As many reviewers have said, Orchid Garden is on
a beautiful section of land and serves wonderful meals. However we'd like to single out the amazing tours and vendors they work with. Every guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the area of Belize that they were showing us.
Alfredo, the in-house guide, is such a wonderful man. When he showed us around the Belize Zoo, he really knew a lot about the animals and plants and their history at the zoo. When we'd walk up to the fences around exhibits, sometimes the animals would come up to him, giving us a lot closer look than we'd ever get at a zoo anywhere else. He is also very knowledgeable about Belizean/Mayan history.
All of the other guides were wonderful as well, we even had an Archeology student guiding us around the ATM cave and a member of one of the families of workers who had helped excavate the site initially, taking us around Lamanai.
The hotel itself is sort of a charming blend of a nice summer camp and a jungle resort. We also liked that it was situated in any area where you could really see the countryside and the Belizean people.
If you want to spend your week sipping icy drinks by a pool and going to a spa this is probably not your place. However if you'd like adventure but would like the convenience of being guided/helped by people who really know the area, this a great option.

We had a fabulous week with our 17 year old son, all arranged by Christine and Jason of Orchid Garden Eco-hotel. It included so much for such a low price: being met at the airport and driven to many adventures- cave tubing, zip line rides, the incredible ATM Mayan Cave and snorkeling and the end of a great vacation at San Pedro. Not to repeat other reviews, but the food and service were amazing, Christine was a charming host- careful to make sure every detail was attended to so we could just be active and enjoy the history, nature, and beauty of this country. I would highly recommend this to families with teens- for access to activities that are fun and educational. The Eco hotel guides that drove us to places would talk about the history, current politics, family life, school, nature etc... of the country.

When we decided to make Belize as our winter break trip destination
, I checked into many options and decided to stay at Orchid Garden Eco village as our base. Our family of three stayed here on a 7 night 8 day package with a tour to Tikal. The whole experience staying at Orchid Garden was wonderful. Started from the very beginning, the services were impeccable. Jason always answered my questions promptly. He ever helped me found a reasonable airfare and traveling time to make this trip possible for us. When we arrived at Belize, Alfredo was there to pick us up, we spend many hours traveling with him. He would stoped at places or take a detour just to show us somethings interesting. He shared his knowledge about Belize, plants and birds with us that made every ride with him informative. Another guide, Alvero, is equally professional and pleasant to be with. He would do anything to make your time with him enjoyable. The meals were always home-made with fresh ingredients and very delicious. Jason inquired what we like to eat and Christine took that into consideration when she planned for the meals. The ground of the hotel is charming and the room itself is clean and comfortable. The most remarkable aspects of this place is the personal attention, genuineness, friendliness, and hospitality of Christine and her staff provide. For example, we have our teen age son with us, and Christine gave us a suite without extra charge so we can have more room. They arranged great activities and send you with extra towels, water bottles etc, to ensure you have what you needed to enjoy the activities. In every way during our stay with them, we have experienced this level of services and their willingness to go to the extra mile to make sure their guests got the most out of the vacation.
This is my most stress free vacation because Christine took care of every travel arrangement seamlessly . We enjoyed our trip so much not only because Belize is a wonderful place to visit but also the people we met at Orchid Garden. Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable.
