Nature Pond

The undertaking experimental project is a nature swimming pool, set in an acre of similar ground currently lying follow to one side of our restaurant.  We want guests to have an outside area to relax in – to sunbathe, or to sit/lie in the shade – surrounded by natural beauty.  We didn’t want a conventional swimming pool because that traditionally uses chemicals to kill everything but ourselves; but then we found out about nature swimming pools, which have become increasingly popular in Europe over the last twenty years.  Basically, you dig your pool, and line it with a lightweight material specially made to form a barrier against the clay without polluting the water in any way.  You then surround your pool with a shallow area separated from it and containing plants which feed on any nutrients in the water, ensuring that it is always pure and fresh.  The water in the system is pumped slowly round the system, so that clean fresh water is constantly entering the pool from one end, pushing water which has been in the swimming pool for whatever time already out at the other end and into the bio-filtration channel for repurification.  It really does work, and it means you can have a beautiful natural setting for your swimming pool, giving it the feel of a naturally created pool, and providing a life-giving resource to the local flora and fauna.  Entrance to the swimming area will be over decking, which will be designed to permit sun lounging and shady seclusion; and the restaurant is close by for the provision of those vital cold drinks which make the experience perfect.  Again, the area will take a year or so to settle down to its new regime; but by then it should have provided a valuable facility for the Eco-resort, while at the same time encouraging a greater diversity of plant and animal life in that vicinity.

Set in an acre of similar ground currently lying follow to one side of our restaurant.  We dig a pool, and line it with a lightweight material specially made to form a barrier against the clay without polluting the water in any way.  We surround our pool with a shallow area separated from it and containing mangrove plants as the bio-filtration channel for purification, the mangrove feed on any nutrients in the water, ensuring that it is always pure and fresh.  The  fresh pump in by solar pump system from the artificial by our nature trail  and overflow water flow back to the wetland for recycle.

Now we are expecting to have a beautiful natural setting for our guests to swim, giving it the feel of a naturally created pool, and providing a life-giving resource to the local flora and fauna.
