Fabulous Belize Vacations
My family of 5 (3 grown children, 2 older adults) stayed at Orchid Garden for a short 2.5 day stay and when we left, our only thought was disappointment that we could not have stayed longer! Christine and her staff truly spoiled us in every way possible and we were never in need or want! The food is superb, some of the best we ate while in Belize, and they take food allergies and preferences very seriously. Our bellies were always full and the staff also made sure to supplement our tours with bottled water and sometimes even lunch as well. The tour guides, Alfredo and Alvero, are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and gladly answer any questions. The actual accommodations are rustic but very comfortable. Every detail was accounted for, from making sure we had umbrellas and flashlights on our walk home to providing us with extra towels on our cave tubing adventure!
The three tours we did were the Belize zoo, River Cruise and Lamanai Ruins, and Cave Tubing. We loved each of them and this is definitely the most efficient way to visit the mainland! My parents are older and I was approximately 7 weeks pregnant during my time in Belize, and none of the tours were overly strenuous or arduous (although my mom and I did not go cave tubing). There were so many more options to chose from and if we ever have the chance to return, we definitely hope to try some of those out as well (horseback riding, ATM rides, zip lining, etc.). An additional important and impressive point is that we were originally scheduled to go zip lining but due to arriving a bit later than expected, we were unable to fit that activity in. Christine promptly refunded our money and apologized that we had to miss out, even though it was not her fault at all!
One more last thought thought to add is that Jason is incredibly fast at responding to emails, and that is something I personally consider to be important and was greatly appreciative of. He was also very patient in answering my numerous questions and reassuring me as I was concerned that some of the activities may not be well suited for my parents older age or my pregnancy. He turned out to be right on all accounts!
Overall, we had a fabulous time and could not have asked for more. We became great friends with the staff in our short time there and hope to be back to visit them again soon!!
