Many companies offer what they describe as adventure tours in Belize - just Googe "Adventure Tours in Belize" and browse to your heart's content. They offer jungle trekking, birding, kayaking, caving and spending the night in some pretty remote places. If getting this close to the wild side is what floats your boat, and your levels of fitness and motivation are significantly above average, make sure you have taken your anti-malaria pills and that you are carrying plenty of bug spray containing at least 25% deet; plus spending the night in the jungle anywhere near the Guatemalan border is arguably not for the faint-hearted (even the standard tours to Caracol from San Ignacio employ the services of an armed guard).
