Tapir Trail Tour

This trail passes through lowland rainforest south of Hector Creek to the Sibun River and Lagoon, a wildlife sanctuary of nearly 40 square miles.  The commonest traces found are from tapirs.

This area encompasses many terrains, each with its own ecosystem: lowland rainforest, cohune woods, swamps and savannah, potato holes, mangrove forests, pimento bush and many others.

It’s a fascinating experience if you’re able to take on fairly rough, uneven terrain for that length of time.  If it sounds too strenuous for you, we provide a Belize City tour with a knowledgeable guide, which is also fascinating an d informative, but much more leisurely!
